It has been a tempestuous summer. Tempestuous in terms of meteorology rather than the emotional, personal sort. Most days seem to begin or end with lightning strikes and bursts of rain. I've spent several evenings enjoying the sky's displays on my front porch--watching looming clouds turn to heliotrope lanterns backlit with streaks of fleeting light. It's almost as pretty as a firework show, although a good deal less predictable. On warm evenings when the bugs are at bay, it's a pleasant way to clear your mind from a cluttered day.

such pretty scenery! and I really like the details of the bodice on that dress. summer storms are my absolute favourite, although Tokyo's rainy season is pretty chilly. I miss monsoon season in Arizona- that was by far the most dramatic.

Watching a summer thunderstorm late at night is such a perfect way to clear your mind. It stormed all night where I lived, and this morning everything is so calm. Your writing is beautiful!

What an adorable dress! And I love the setting of these pictures! And that last picture is gorgeous! Storms fascinate me, I normally don't mind them until they cause power and water outages that last for days!!
