One of my new sponsors Poppycock Vintage sent me this lovely hat to style. I used to wear a lot more vintage hats, but I haven't much in recent years--it is hard to pull off a hat when you have a very short pixie. This one is light enough for summer and makes me feel quite ladylike so I tried to dress my most proper to suit it. Of course, it's hard to maintain ladylike feelings when you're melting under the heat and swatting at mosquitoes as I was on this day. So glamorous.

    Dress and shoes are perfect with that hat. I wish people wore more hats! Having said that, I almost never wear them. Haha. But they look so nice. And yes, mosquitos, ugh, would be ok with them becoming endangered species I think.

    Even though I check your blog daily, I rarely comment, but I just had to today! I've been looking for a pair of nice black comfy heels (preferably peep toe with an ankle strap) for AGES now, and so I had a mini-freak out when I saw yours--they're EXACTLY what I've been looking for. Unfortunately, your link didn't go to the right pair of shoes, so I frantically scoured the net (using oh-so-specific search terms like "black seychelles heels," which was not so helpful). I finally found them--there were only TWO pairs left on DSW, conveniently in my size on uber-clearance, so I just bought a pair! I think the entire process, from first seeing your photos to purchasing the shoes, couldn't have been more than a half hour. I think this is hilarious because usually I take my time researching new items (especially when making online purchases) and hem and haw. Anyways, just wanted to share my funny story--now I'm looking forward to my own pair of those lovely shoes! :) Also, side note--your blue hair is adorable!

    your hair :O wow!! Did you end up trimming it as well? you said a couple posts back you weren't looking forward to trimming some of the length of in an effort to make the transition from short to long less painful...
