While Meadham Kirchhoff is not usually my cup of tea, I really enjoyed browsing the designers' mood boards for spring 2014 via this set of photographs by Eleanor Hardwick and beneath much of the runway presentation were elements I eternally enjoy: delicate lace, beautiful embroidery, school girl-inspired pleats and blazers and so on. Mood boards definitely hold inspiration beyond the original creators and I really admire the breadth and volume of these which blended Edwardian dress, David Bowie, classical sculpture, and kitty wallpaper. Through the seemingly incongruous collection of images a pattern and distinctive style emerges.
