There's something about milkmaid braids, glasses, and a collared dress that says "schoolmarm" to me. I picture this ensemble on some strict, sour-faced woman in a small town trying to teach otherwise uninterested children in an old one-room school house. And yet for all of those connotations I somehow managed to find myself in this ensemble. It was a hot day so I chose the hair for practicality and while I made an effort to look nice, I was still too lazy to put in contact lenses. Let's just hope the sassy peep-toes and pink hair offset the more prim elements of my outfit...

I love the dress, shoes, hair, and glasses! I wear glasses most of the time since my contact lenses hurt (apparently I'm "allergic" to contacts, awesome!), but I haven't yet gained the courage to take photos wearing glasses. You make it look so elegant!

I read every single one of your posts, but I rarely comment at the risk of becoming a broken record. This outfit is exceptional, though. Every element works together so perfectly; they make me want to run home and play with everything in my closet.
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely outfit! I love the flower print on the dress, and that red bag is perfect!

I like the schoolgirl/librarian look. It is kind of classic but has a nice (I think) quirky feel to it. I really like your glasses. I know how you feel though heh heh. Some days I don't even feel like putting makeup on or "doing" my hair. Thank you for sharing! Have a lovely day!

I can totally visualize this outfit on some sour-faced lady behind a desk, but your hair and bag (and overall lighthearted demeanor) offset that. I love this look!

So lovely! I love the pop (or should I say "pow!") of color from the purse! And, you're glasses are very cute and vintage cat-eye looking. I think they add to the outfit. :)
