Fashion people tend to be so serious about fashion and I theorize it's partly a reaction to how frivolous the rest of the world treats fashion. And that is how the rest of the world reacts to more outlandish styles--with a sneer or furrowed eyebrow a mix of confusion as to why someone would dress so differently and a desire to mock them for their outlandish appearance. Yet it is sometimes the most ridiculous fashion looks that I love the most. And while I fear my blog is becoming one big Valentino fan page, I can't resist sharing the S/S 2015 campaign photographed by Michal Pudelka. As much as I love the dresses I was drawn into this campaign by one of images above where the models look like shipwreck victims (the one before the final in the set). From that image I went down the rabbit hole chasing the rest of the campaign from the corners of the web and delighting in each new-found image. Here models are buried in sand (a perfect method to remove distraction from their sunglasses!)and in another they cling sleepily to a tree. While some images are more dreamy-pretty, it is the more ridiculous that appeal to me. Non-fashion fans can sneer all they like at the preposterous images--sometimes we're in on the joke.
