I don't know why the old fashioned skeleton key holds so much aesthetic appeal, but yeah I think they're really pretty. I don't believe it's "golden age thinking" or the idea that things from the past were better, but mere retrophilia. I like old things; they're intriguing and today's modern minimalist design isn't always my cup of tea. I like ornamentalism; decorative and functional design even if sometimes it becomes "too much." Anyway, I couldn't resist this key print dress which is pretty blatantly Dolce & Gabbana inspired (and I did predict their key prints would start a trend). .

Such a lovely look!
ReplyDeleteThat dress!!!
ReplyDeleteA beautiful print on your dress, and I so agree with the retrophilia aspect. I too, adore old things because of the intricate designs and the way things seem to be created to last. There is a beauty and an artistry to old fashioned design that I just don't personally find in modern pieces. :) ❤

I couldn't find a comment section for your "good after nine" post. Just wanted to say your stop motions are just wonderful. Perfect timing and movements. The rabbit eating the carrot is priceless. You should be getting big bucks for this!
ReplyDelete@Anonymous aw thank you! I missed making stop motions so it was fun to get back into it--I'd be happy if someone paid me anything for them! :p
ReplyDeleteI love this dress! I've collected skeleton keys since I was really young because I loved the keys in Alice and Wonderland.
