I've had this dress for a few months now, but I've been slow to photograph it for the blog. I'm not sure why since it ticks a lot of my style boxes--vintage inspired, velvet, and it even has pockets! Not to mention it's by the line Act Three Apparel, which is specifically deisgned for petite ladies 5'4" and under (at 5'1" I definitely meet that description!). I think in my mind it was the perfect sort of piece for holiday parties, but then my holiday ended up being quite casual and so it lingered in the back of my closet, a bit forlorn. Today it finally got out though; it suits all the black and white inspiration I've been finding lately in the form of vintage photographs--like the book of Vivian Maier's photographs I'm looking at in this post. I've been fascinated by Vivian Maier's story since I heard about her back in 2011; the documentary that has since come out is worth a watch if you haven't seen it and you enjoy vintage street photography and a good mystery.

That is a beautiful dress. I love the added details that the buttons give it. You styled it perfectly with the peter pan color top and tie. And those gloves! I love the bows on them. Your photos are stunning. Love that you included some in black and white.
