We made the most of the weekend's sunny weather by staying overnight at our favorite old cottage in the Mourne mountains. It was quite idyllic from our lunchtime picnic on the lawn enjoying the view and playing with the friendly resident cat, to the evening indoors with a fire crackling away as we buried ourselves in much-neglected novels. I had the perfect outfit all planned out for weeks once I knew this weekend was booked; one of my favorite spring-y vintage dresses and a perfect retro cardigan that would match the cottage's door and windows perfectly. I really love the knitwear by Emmy Design; I think I might need to get a few more of her spring pieces since I love wearing little lightweight dresses, but the weather still calls for layering! To borrow a Charles Dickens quote, this weekend was full of days, "when it is summer in the light, and winter in the shade." I tend to dress for the sun and end up shivering every time a cloud passes overhead.
