Catch of the Day

My family flew over for a visit (niece and nephews in tow!) and we've been showing them around some of the best parts of the country. We booked a cottage up on the North Coast within walking distance of one of our favorite beaches and with scenic hikes along the shore right out the back door. You couldn't ask for a more ideal setting with the Giant's Causeway, Ballintoy Harbour, and Dunluce Castle just a short skip away. What we've probably enjoyed the most, are the quiet coastal walks along the shore; places less marked by the noticeable footsteps of tourists but are equally epic and striking in their own way. The beaches here are always so lovely, framed in cliffs and caves with pristine sand and crystal clear waters. I hardly ever end up in the water, but I love a good beach day of walking through the sand and exploring the caves. It has been a breezy week, but I couldn't resist packing a few ocean-themed pieces of clothing and jewelry--and the sun came out long enough to step out in a summer dress on one of our days. Joanie Clothing just came out with this fun lobster and crawfish patterned dress that is a perfect match for GoodAfterNine's Ocean Instruments collection. I took my lobster brooch from the collection and pinned it to my hair bow for a fun change. It's a quirky way to wear your brooches & badges--adds some pizazz to your hair bows and gives you more opportunity to wear your brooches in summer when there's not as many coats and jackets to pin them on. I think it's a style I'll be wearing more this summer as I'm clearly addicted to hair bows this season. lobster dress-5 lobster dress-24
