“Every man can transform the world from one of monotony and drabness to one of excitement and adventure.” -Irving Wallace
A wardrobe is only as limited as the owner's imagination; it really is about what you do with what you have. Shirt dresses are particularly accommodating to transformation and remixes; they are the grown up female equivalent of transforming toys for little boys. The colors and print in this dress made it wearable with a large range of palettes: from reds, to blues, and lots of neutrals in between. There aren't really rules or tips for stretching one dress into multiple outfits, but what I tend to look for are statement accessories and silhouette. Layering pieces on top (pencil skirts) or a petticoat underneath, really makes a dress look entirely different. Just as easy is throwing on a different belt or a vest, since a bow belt has an entirely different "vibe" than a denim vest there's sort of a mood or style to each accessory you can build around. The ultimate transforming item: safety pins, they temporarily shorten a hem in a matter of seconds.
