Maya's Party Agenda

One of my new favorite blogs to visit is the glamorous Maya's Agenda. She has an incredibly covet-worthy wardrobe, but somehow styles even "it" items in a way that seems fresh and personal. As gorgeous as her outfits are, I also enjoy how they're snapped in the moment as she goes about her life in Paris (and elsewhere such as Tokyo). Maya was kind enough to plan a dream party located in the French countryside at a friend's mansion...

What type of party is it?
It would be a 3 day/2 night party starting Friday after work.
My guests, my friends, and their guests would all drive to this one place we call “home”.
Who's invited?
Amongst the artists and poets, we would have Serge Gainsbourg (alive), Jane Birkin (young and beautiful), Olivier Zahm (for his candid shots), Axl Rose (Guns’n’Roses), Sebastian Bach (Skid Row) and Gordon Ramsay (for his cooking and foul mouth) on our guest list.

Where does it take place?
In order to get away from the busy and stressful city life, the weekend would be spent à la campagne (in the countryside) of France, most probably at my friends' castle.
The main attraction would be in the garden; we would sit around a long rustic wooden table scattered with flowers, lanterns hanging from trees, candles floating in the pool, and dogs running around.

What are you serving?
Primarily white, rosé, and red wine. Bordeaux wine is my weakness.
I’m passionate about cooking and find it relaxing to spend early mornings at the fresh market, but we would have our top chef cooking for us during our stay.
For dinner, we would be serving a mix of hors-d’oeuvre, fresh whole sole/roasted chicken/ amb chops with a variety of vegetables.
For dessert, a selection of cheese, red fruit and berries with coulis/molten chocolate cake with whipped cream and ice cream.

Who would get to sit next to you (and why)?
I would be sitting in between the 2 bad boys of the 90’s.
What is the theme or what is everyone wearing?
The theme would be “fashion goes country” (as in countryside and not western). Boho, hippy, Parisian CHIC.
I already know that the girls will all be in light summery dresses by Isabel Marant or crochet tops and tunics by Antik Batik and high waisted shorts or cute bell bottoms with espadrilles and clogs but we wouldn't be walking in heels or shoes...
Everybody would be barefoot, so a nice pedicure would be nice, right?

Is there a special play list? Entertainment?
Monsieur Gainsbourg himself.
Are there any party favors?
Every girl could wear a crown made of flowers and every guy could have a bottle to himself.
What are the hot topics of the evening?
Everything and anything...Sex, politics and religion - the three topics up for debate that are not politically correct!

Who is the most likely to get drunk and dance on the table?
All of us. Those who couldn’t find space on the table can have the pool!
Who is the last to leave?
We would all sadly have to head back to Paris on Sunday…

  19. Thanks for all of this. I think I've found my new daily read.

I LOVE HER STYLE. But as you already know I love, love Japanese street style. Especially when they're transplanted to Europe. She's so glam, but it's kind of accessible in a way. Not way too runway glam. I dig her.

    Maeko, thereafterish.
