My sister and I spent a good part of our day exploring the Fitzwilliam Museum; which is so large you could easily spend an entire day in there. The museum sadly has a no photography policy and after seeing two Italian girls get chewed out (and then followed and glared at for ten minutes), I didn't quite dare to snap any on the sly. However, there's really no way to restrict pictures outdoors in the public view, so my sister and I snapped a number outside the musuem which is quite impressive itself. I would like my next home to feature massive Doric order columns...

P.S. The other evening I met up with Lizzie of Quite Quaint for some drinks quayside. We were treated to a show by some of the locals who were having a riot (i.e. getting smashed). Unfortunately, I didn't think to take pictures until it was quite dark! This photograph doesn't do her justice, but will perhaps give you an idea of her style. It was a really lovely evening.

ahhh..your outfits are just wonderful :)
ReplyDeleteSounds like you are having a blast. Love the way you mixed up that dress with the blouse! I need ideas on how to maximize the versatility of a small amount of clothes for my own move abroad.
ReplyDeleteYour outfit here, looks so fascinating, I know this dress from before but the belt and the blouse underneath really give it an unique look. :)
ReplyDeleteI Still Looove Your Bag.

This is one of my favorite dresses of yours! I love you you've modernized it by layering it over a sheer blouse and adding an interesting wide belt.
ReplyDeleteLove the way you put the blouse under the dress. Fantastic outfit and pictures as always!:)SarahD
ReplyDeleteGorgeous scene!! The dress is fully worthy of it!

I absolutely LOVE the Fitz Museum, it is amazing! And that is a pretty dress.
ReplyDeleteIt all looks incredible, sounds like so much fun
ReplyDeleteYour outfit is so lovely
Adore this polka dot dress! The belt is also quite fabulous with a great backdrop on top of it!
ReplyDeletethis outfit is just too adorable!
ReplyDeleteThis is one of the best dresses. I like that it is tight and feminine, but with enough room to wiggle in a blouse underneath. I love it.
ReplyDeleteIt's a very chic non-USA-tourist dress.
I love the idea of having a home with Doric columns as well. I see too many places with Corinthian style columns around here--mainly colonial architecture homes--and I think, that's overkill.
This is a great post. You look wonderful (as always).

ReplyDeleteAw this is great. I've definitely realised the amazing thing about blogs, being able to meet people in different cities/countries.
ReplyDeleteI love how you've layered that dress.
Love the dress, it's so unusual!
ReplyDeletefunny enough there is a house where i live that has quite similar lions guarding its front entrance. they are a bit smaller, but overpowering none the less. the best part is, the house is completely regular and quite small. it is quite the contrast!
ReplyDeleteI love your remixing of that dress ---it's beautiful. And it's great that you were able to get a few shots of the museum outside. I hate the no-indoor-photo policy of some places.
ReplyDeleteI LOVE your outfit. And her outfit is so lovely too! Great pics~!
ReplyDeletelove your outfit, and the scenery! looks like a beautiful place. =)
