One Travelling Circus And Staff

This evening I'll say goodbye to my temporary students, adopted siblings, and playmates as they fly back to Kabul and I drive home. It's been an exhausting but very fun couple of weeks. It was rather surreal to turn down opportunities in New York or my usual fashion week schedule (especially studio visits with designers like Family Affairs or seeing Rachel Antonoff and Lauren Moffatt's creative presentations), but at this moment I don't regret anything. I hope there will be more fashion weeks and I'm fairly certain I won't be able to chaperon these children again. I wore this outfit on the first day of my journey; the brief roadtrip from Pennsylvania to Washington DC to begin duties. The color of this dress is my absolute favorite although I opted for longer skirts on all the other days of my duties. Short skirts are a nuisance when sitting on the ground with kids! Anyway, more posts from my adventures lately should be coming shortly (as soon as I recover)--it will definitely be a different perspective from my usual abandoned locations as we visit DC, New York, and Boston.

Outfit details:

  1. Can't wait to hear about your adventures! Love your dress and tights!

    The Occasional Indulgence

  2. Oh, I love that bag! It's so sweet. <3

  3. Love this look so much!

  4. Ooo I've been wanting that dress from modcloth since they got it. I think you convinced me to get it!

  5. Sounds like an amazing opportunity to be traveling with a group of such talented people! Can't wait to hear about how the rest of the trip unfolds. I love the perspective that you bring about the fact that there will always be another NYFW and only one chance to travel like this.

P.S. that duffle bag is DIVINE!

  6. I wish that duffel bag was not thrifted! I was going to search for the website to purchase it. Simply adorable.

  7. wow, beautiful outfit! :)

  8. This outfit looks so cosy!! You shouldn't have any regrets because if Nothing else the alternative has given you more new experiences than going to fashion week ever would have, the memories you made will stay with you and after all fashion week does happen every year!

  9. jolie tenue ! :)
I love your boots and dress !

  10. I really love that you're doing this instead of going to fashion week. like really a lot. I've been a cub scout leader for the past two years, and it is such a whirlwind of emotions, and exhausting- but it's rewarding in ways you just can't put into words. I've been filming them making pinewood derby cars this week and it's craaaazy. have fun!
