Two Times A Lady

These shoes aren't the most practical for our current conditions, but I was getting tired of wearing boots and really wanted to look like a lady for the day. My sixties inspired sweater called for an equally Audrey inspired look. Eventually I think I'll get closer to this style on a regular basis; vintage and ladylike with a more elegant skirt length and muted palette than I usually favor. Since this sweater is nearly half off right now I am tempted to snatch it up in multiple colors--there can never be enough classic pieces like this in my wardrobe.

Outfit details:
Zara coat (similar)
Shop Ruche scarf (sold out)
vintage purse
Modcloth gloves (old, similar)

  2. I really love the simplicity in this outfit and how eye-catching the red accessories [and hair!] are. You look very sophisticated. I have been eyeing this sweater for a while now [love this particular neckline] but have been waiting for sales to hit. I'm curious though, I've never bought anything from Boden [I just window-shop on their website], but could you tell me how this sweater fits? Is it true to american sizing or would you recommend sizing up?

  3. You ALWAYS look like a lady!!! I absolutely LOVE this outfit and I think the shoes may not be practical with the snow, but they really compliment the outfit. I don't know where you come up with so many beautiful outfits but I really enjoy seeing you every day! Keep up the GREAT work!

  5. @Anna, I'd say the sizing is true to American sizing--or at least I got a size 2 and it fits me like an xsmall sweater usually does.

  7. You do indeed look very ladylike! I enjoy that there are still touches of whimsy, like the polka dot tights.

  8. Such a sophisticated look! I am afraid to wear heels in the many inches of snow where I live. I'm afraid I will have to stick to my snow boots until spring comes. :)

Also, I was looking through old Bust magazines when i was making collages, and I found a short interview that you did in there. To think it was in there the whole time and I never made the connection! I love the whimsical outfit that you're wearing in the picture for the interview. Blast from the past. ^_^
