Eire Engagement

Well it's only been a few days since my last outfit post but there are a lot of changes to announce. For one thing I'm now (temporarily) a blonde. Also, I'm back in Northern Ireland. And I'm engaged! Woohoo! I had barely landed in Dublin before Thomas whisked me off to his favorite beach and went down on one knee. Between the lovely location, beautiful vintage ring, and his sweet proposal I couldn't help but say yes. We had a relaxed evening on the beach enjoying the sunshine and sound of the waves before our hike back to civilization, snapping a few informal pictures along the way to help commemorate the day.

You look beautiful, and congratulations!! That has got to be one of the most gorgeous wedding rings I've ever seen. Is it vintage? I always love those types of rings FAR more than anything modern.

Congratulations Rebecca! I am so happy for you! Your ring is beautiful and looks so "you" - your fiance did a lovely job in picking it out! I can't wait to see what kind of wedding dress you choose!

I've been reading your blog for years and years (ever since your days of working as a cashier at that little store!) and never commented until now. I just wanted to say how absolutely beautiful it's been watching your style grow and change, your photos evolve, and your smile emerge more and more in your posts. I admit I've spent a lot of time jealous of your travels (it's my dream to go to Ireland one day, and your photos were soo pretty and romantic!), but in the happiest-for-you way possible - like, "I wish I could be her" rather than "I hate that bitch" haha. This isn't going to mean a lot coming from a total stranger, but I'm incredibly happy for you and can't wait to see the inevitably gorgeous vintage wedding you're going to have. Have a wonderful engagement :)

A million congratulations! I too have been an avid reader for the past few years, and it has been fun and lovely to see you and this blog grow and transform. I'm so happy for you! I too just got engaged to a foreigner (german) this summer, and we are trying to figure out the visa process and where its legal to get married and how etc. It doesn't seem like an easy or fun process, but of course its worth it in the end! Good luck with everything!

I haven't come to your blog in a while but I was a very loyal reader years ago. I actually came in search of your blogroll, you used to have a list and the link to this sweet blog where a girl shared thoughts on life and her lovelife (can't remember the name but would love to find it again, it was mainly text no pictures1). And today I was browsing your blog and this post almost made me cry, you both look lovely and perfect together. COngratulatioooons!

Rebecca, The Clothes Horse said...

@Rita, thanks! can you provide any more information about the blogger--maybe where they were living or what their life was like a bit? I can't say it rings any bells just from your description, but a lot of bloggers I followed in the beginning no longer blog so that could be why. Also you can e-mail me if you want to try to figure this out together with more back-and-forth about who she might be.
