Outfit: Oh For A Draught Of Vintage

My love of vintage shopping started young. Back in junior high I told my dad I "needed" a new pair of jeans and he took me to the nearest thrift shop. It wasn't long before I realized that secondhand jeans and tees weren't quite as cool as vintage dresses from the 50s and 60s. On a budget in college my vintage shopping became even more pronounced as I discovered the wonder of eBay auctions for 99 cents and the plethora of amazing thrift shops near my college campus. Lately quality vintage seems harder to find and higher priced, but I still love those nearly one-of-a-kind finds. I'm being more picky with my vintage purchases, but I haven't abandoned the hunt completely...

  1. Oh, the joys of thrift shopping. We have a HUGE antique mall not far from our house. My mom, my sister, and I took a special day to just wander through it... and we still didn't see every section. It has everything! Clothes, books, furniture. You name it, most likely they have it. I don't thrift shop that often cause it really does take a long time, but sometimes it is definitely worth it. Where did you get your gloves? Did you get them from a thrift shop?

    Have a lovely day!

  3. Ebay shopping for vintage dresses is the best! I actually purchased a vintage piece of yours and can't thank you enough for keeping it in such great condition :) The color palette for your look is awesome, everything looks really great together!

  4. I really need to get into shopping vintage, some of my best friends do it but I'm really bad at finding things. The closest vintage shops to me are an hour away by train which sucks too. Hopefully when I go off to uni I'll be able to start shopping vintage.

I love your outfit and your photos, the light looks so cool coming through the trees like that!

  5. Oh how I love the color scheme of this lovely outfit

  6. I've been starting to drift more and more into picking out vintage dresses from the thriftstores - luckily, most people around where I live don't wear a lot of vintage, so I'm able to buy all the weird ones for myself <3

Your dress is so beautiful. That pattern and the colors are just stunning. I keep find myself wishing that modern manufacturers took more cues from older clothing in terms of flattering cuts and sturdier designs. I'm in love with your shoes as well - they look so comfy!

  7. That top and yellow coat looks great...
Cap really suits to this dress perfectly...
