Outfit: Edwardian

Channeling my inner Anne of Green Gables in vintage rolled hair and full sleeves...

Most of my outfits start with a clothing item; a dress or a blouse, but this particular look started with a hairstyle. Sophie and Luna is a bespoke flower crown line; all of the crowns are made by real flowers that have been dried and preserved to last. I was lucky enough to receive this Grecian crown, which can be worn in a few ways but inspired me towards an Edwardian inspired look. I think it may be my new favorite hairstyle, although I'm not sure how many outfits it will work with! Since I started with the hairstyle I chose my most vintage-looking blouse, a simple color palette, and then mixed things up a bit with my peach purse.

  1. Beautiful pictures! I love the fashion and hairstyles of the Edwardian era so much. I would try the Edwardian tuck but my hair isn't long enough anymore. It looks great on you!

  4. This is one of my favorite looks you've done! Is the hairstyle a modified version of your retro rolled updo -- or will you have a tutorial for this? :)

  5. This look is so gorgeous. I love the floral crown! I don't have anywhere to wear a crown, but it makes me want one.

  9. Rebecca - the light in these photos looks absolutely gorgeous and magical. Are you still taking photos yourself or getting your fellow to help? Either way, these look glorious. And I love your Edwardian style blouse, so lovely!

  10. @Rebecca Jane, thank you! photos are a combination--I still take many photographs myself and Thomas helps out every once in awhile. You'll find I still credit whoever took the photos underneath the clothing details. :)

  11. So sweet and pretty! You even look like a Victorian painting in a few of the photos. I voted for you, can we keep voting or is it a one-time deal?

  12. This look of yours makes it seem as if you just jumped out of a classic novel. Maybe something from the classical times, like Jane Austen or Jane Eyre. The way the sun shines on the field (and you) definitely helps give an ethereal air about you. Well done, Thomas!
That blouse is an absolute dream, by the way! The hairstyle and crown just put the cherry on top of this real classical look ;)

  15. Love these themed shoots, you look very old-timey. And that skirt is such an unusual colour and texture. I wish it fitted in my wardrobe, as it is I'd have to buy a tonne of stuff to go with it.
