Outfit: The Armagh Public Library

It seems fitting that my last outfit post leading up to Valentine's Day features me in a heart embellished dress in an old and lovely library. Libraries and books were after all my first loves and constant companions through many a lonely day. When people used to ask me what type of person I was attracted to I would answer that I was more attractied to books than people self-labeling as "bibliosexual." Despite the misleading name, the Armagh Public Library is not where you go to check out books for your personal reading pleasure. Instead it is the oldest library in Northern Ireland housing rare and valuable books. However if you love books and libraries you can still visit this little slice of heaven (just don't touch the pretty books without gloves, a mistake we made in ignorance although I'm holding a regular paperback in most of these pictures) as a visitor or researcher. For us it was a good way to pass a grey February afternoon.armagh public library, northern ireland library, ireland libraryarmagh public library, northern ireland library, ireland library armagh public library, northern ireland library, ireland library armagh public library, northern ireland library, ireland libraryarmagh public library, northern ireland library, ireland libraryarmagh public library, northern ireland library, ireland libraryarmagh public library, northern ireland library, ireland libraryarmagh public library, northern ireland library, ireland libraryarmagh public library, northern ireland library, ireland libraryarmagh public library, northern ireland library, ireland library

I'm a sucker for libraries too! I like to visit weekly. This old library looks so sweet, cozy and cute! Plus I like your dress. :-)

I love your style so much!
I don't know if you have ever heard of the singer Lenka, but your blog comes to my mind every time I listen to her songs. Maybe you should check out her music, you might like it.

This is so cool! I love the spiral staircase and that there is a ladder along the wall of books! It was so hard for me to decide between working in a public library or working with rare books. I ended up doing the former. But seeing libraries like this makes my heart ache for for those beautiful books! Your outfit is adorable as always, love those oxford heels!

What a great dress!!. If you like libraries there is one that you must visit next time you come over the water. It is at Wimpole Hall, near Cambridge and there are nearly 10,000 books, some of which are 400 years old

May I ask where your shoes are from? I've been looking for something similar!

Rebecca, A Clothes Horse said...

@GirlPhantom the shoes were from Shop Ruche several years ago, but they're by Bait footwear if you're looking for this exact pair. Otherwise just search around for oxford heels for a similar style.
