On a bright day in spring or summer I often have to force myself to take pictures further than the little stoop at the front of our gatehouse. If I am wearing yellow that matches our front door my reluctance to venture further afield is compounded. But who can resist such a charming little home and cheery door as their backdrop? It's funny to think that over two years ago now I very nearly did resist this little house, since I was reluctant to rent it! But I was won over and have since become quite enamored with the little building and all its quirks. The door color is especially fitting since that warm mustard-y yellow is becoming the staple in my closet. I especially like it in spring, in a bright coat or cardigan adding an injection of sunshine and warmth to an otherwise more classic and darker outfit. Like today's outfit which I actually built around my new Daniel Wellington watch. It's from their new classic petite collection and I am in love with the metal mesh strap. I'm not usually big on watches (or really anything on my wrists), but this one just feels so "right." It looks more like a piece of jewelry and the silver strap matches my engagement and wedding rings so well I feel like I'll get a lot of wear out of it. You can use the code "ACLOTHESHORSE" to get 15% off at Daniel Wellington from now through April 15th.

I really like the yellow colour of your coat. I've been thinking of getting a yellow piece to celebrate spring myself!
